Our History
Precision Tools Service, Inc., a leader in the automotive and machine tools industries, celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2018. Today, PTS is a top-class distribution company that specializes in the supply of precision metric tools such as milling tools, measuring equipment, power tools, and other smaller tools.
PTS is a subsidiary of Toyo Corporation, Japan-based distribution company, which specializes in machine tools and precision measuring tools. Since its establishment in 1955, Toyo has been supplying precision and small tools primarily for Japanese automotive industry. Toyo’s motto is “customer-first” and Toyo and its group companies have been serving customers through the global network. Toyo has its operations in North America, Thailand, Czech Republic, China and India.
PTS prides itself on its service; therefore, world-wide presence and around the clock accessibility are priorities that will not change. Since, PTS focuses on the customer we have adopted a very flexible approach to our customers. We realize that each one of our customers has different needs and requirements and we are willing to adapt to any situation such as consignment, single billing, and weekly on-site inventories.
A New Era
In 2017, Precision Tools Service, Inc. purchased MQ Automation, and began working on integrating the companies to provide a unique form of industrial distribution. Effective December 1st, 2019, MQ Automation officially has changed its name to PTS Automation, Inc.
Re-branding is our next step as we continue to integrate both companies. Our company integration has been a careful and exciting process since being purchased in 2017. Our new name reflects our proud connection with PTS and our continued focus on automated solutions.
We look forward to our continued relationships with our customers and supplier partners. We are expanding to also become the Automation & Technical Support Center for all North American PTS offices.
Additionally, this strategic re-branding allows us to grow our product and services offering through PTS’s extensive supplier network. We are excited to provide additional products and services that we have not supplied in the past.
