INTRODUCTORY
PNEUMATIC TRAINING

Precision Tools Service is proud to offer an introductory pneumatic training course and unit built to train your staff to current industry pneumatic standards, best practices, and troubleshooting techniques.

This two-day course pairs a lab-style presentation of essential pneumatic components and technologies with hands-on practice through the PTS Pneumatic Training System.

The PTS Pneumatic Training System covers standard SMC components and their functionality within pneumatic circuit design.

By understanding practical pneumatic principles and standard components, your staff will be better prepared for the day-to-day challenges with pneumatics throughout your facility.

Class Offerings

Introductory Programming Training

CX-ONE Basic CS/CJ PLC (3 Days)

• Overview of programmable controller system components
• Learn I/O wiring concepts
• Learn the terminology and configurations of a PLC system
• Learn I/O addressing, and memory organization of a PLC system
• Use basic ladder logic programming techniques
• Use timers, counters, and basic function logic to solve a simple application
• Use CX-Programmer to create and troubleshoot program logic
• Understand the use of advanced PLC instructions
• Understand how advanced PLC instructions utilize PLC memory
• Use CX-Programmer as a programming and diagnostic tool

Course Fee: $800/person

Advanced Programming Training

CX-ONE Advanced CS/CJ PLC (3 Days)

• PLC Addressing Review
• PLC Memory Area Review
• Basic Instructions Review
• Configure Special I/O Module
• Learn to Master Advanced PLC Programming Concepts
• Learn to Implement Advanced Instructions like Data Movement, Comparison, Collect, Data Transfer, BCD/Binary Math, Floating Point Math, Shift Instructions, etc.
• Reinforce concepts through hands-on workshops
• Use CX-Programmer to create and troubleshoot ladder logic and instruction mapping

The student should have experience programming Omron PLC’s and should be familiar with the CX-Programmer programming software. Prior completion of the Basic PLC CS/CJ Training Course would be very helpful, but not required.

Course Fee: $1,000/person

Introductory Programming Training – NJ/NX

Sysmac Studio Basic PLC (3 Days)

• Understand the fundamentals of the Sysmac Control System
• Overview of the NJ System Components
• Learn the terminology and configurations of an NJ system
• Learn Discrete I/O Addressing and Tag Database creation of an NJ system
• Explore in detail Structures, Unions, Enumerators and Arrays
• Understand the concepts and conventions of IEC 61131-3 programming
• Introduction to Functions, Function Blocks and other programming techniques commonly used in a project
• Create a project for an NJ Series Controller and commission it in the CPU
• Configure a NJ Series Controller with Local I/O
• Create basic programs to solve simple applications using Sysmac Studio
• Utilize the troubleshooting tools in the Sysmac Studio software to connect to the controller, monitor program operation and troubleshoot control system errors

Course Fee: $1,000/person

Advanced Programming Training – NJ/NX

SYSMAC STUDIO Advanced PLC (3 Days)

• NJ System Components Review
• Discrete I/O Addressing and Tag Database creation of an NJ system review
• Utilization of Structures, Unions and Enumerators in a project
• Functions, Function Blocks and other programming techniques commonly used in a project.
• Learn proper implementation of a Special I/O Module in a NJ system
• Expanded exercise in the concepts and conventions of IEC 61131-3 programming
• Create a project for an NJ Series Controller utilizing advanced concepts and commission it in the CPU
• Create more in-depth programming to solve more challenging applications using Sysmac Studio
• Learn to Master Advanced functions for Data Movement, Comparison, Data Collection, Data Transfer, Data Shifting used for advanced sequencing, Arithmetic functions with Integer and Real Numbers, etc.
• Reinforce concepts through hands-on workshops
• Utilize the troubleshooting tools in the Sysmac Studio software to connect to the controller, monitor program operation and troubleshoot control system errors

Introductory Pneumatic Training

Basic Pneumatics – SMC Hardware (2 Day)

Overview of basic Pneumatic components with a hands -on learning environment. The
training panel covers various SMC components that will venture into circuit design and troubleshooting. Students will be able to learn practical pneumatic principals that they can use from day to day and expand their range of pneumatic knowledge and skills

Topics Covered

• Air supply and exhaust (pressure relief valve)
• Speed control (meter-out speed control)
• Buffering (air cushion)
• Position detection (auto-switch)
• Return to home and position hold (2 positions, single/double)
• Emergency stop and stopping accuracy (various types of 3-position valves to double check block)
• Lurch prevention (meter-in speed controller)
• Balance pressure adjustment (regulator with back flow function)
• Measure the min. operating pressure of the components (pilot type solenoid valves)
• Effects of the piping length on actuation speed
• Emergency stop and residual pressure relief (4-position dual 3-port valve)
